• Telemedicine refers to the practice of caring for patients remotely when the provider and patient are not physically present with each other. Modern technology has enabled doctors to consult patients by using HIPAA compliant video-conferencing tools.

Instructions

The office will automatically send you a text message with a link as soon as you schedule a televisit appointment. Click the link provided and you will be routed right to the Healow site and the televisit will start immediately from there! No set-up needed!

By clicking the link, you can skip the next few steps. If the link doesn't work, you will have to follow the steps below.

Step 1: First you'll have to activate your Patient Portal (If you already have set up your portal account, then you can go right to the next step)

  • When you call our office and make a televisit appointment, the staff assign you a temporary login and password.

  • Once scheduled, you will need to log into patient portal that can be accessed through our website.

  • You can click the button to the right to get to the patient portal  

  • Log in with the temporary password the staff gave you. The portal website will prompt you to set up a new password that you can customize yourself

  • Once logged in, your patient account is now active. You can either complete the televisit via the computer or your mobile phone via the Healow App.

We recommend using your phone on the Healow App as it usually works much better than the computer.

Step 2: Mobile Healow App Televisit

  • Download the Healow Mobile app on your smartphone or tablet. 

    • ​​You should download the app BEFORE your scheduled appointment to avoid issues

  • Once the app is downloaded, you will need to put in your username and password you used for the patient portal now that its active.

  • The app will then ask for your office code. Paradise Pediatrics' office code is HGIFBA

  • Once you are logged onto the Healow App, you will see a circle with options for appointments, medications, check-in, find appointment, trackers, and my records. 

    • You can access your upcoming appointments here, but will only be able to check-in 30 minutes before your appointment begins. ​

  • Once its time for your appointment, you can click the "Appointments" button that should be highlighted red (If the icon is not red, you can refresh the app by closing it and reopening it).

  • Then click on the appointment one more time until you see an orange button at the bottom of your screen saying "Start Televisit"

  • Next, you will be prompted to fill out a questionnaire and/or vitals in the appropriate boxes. We need at least the temperature and weight. 

  • Once vitals are entered, click "Enter Vitals" and then you can either "Review Vitals" or "Start Televisit". Click "Start Televisit"

    • Here you will enter the virtual waiting room. The doctor will be able to see that you are checked in and ready to start the visit. Make sure your microphone and camera is on and allows the app access if prompted.​​​​​​​​​

  • The doctor will start the televisit and it will connect automatically. If you have any trouble, you can always call the office for support at (941-924-9900)

5) Click the orange "Start Televisit" or "Review Vitals"
6) In the virtual waiting room now you wait for the doctor to connect
